FAQ: How can I get help?

If you're struggling with something and we don't have a guide available for it, here are some other places you might find an answer.
First and foremost, of course, check the Dreamwidth FAQs and the known Current Issues. They can be tricky to navigate, but there's a lot of good information hidden away in there. Our hope is to make this community function a lot like the FAQ but more easily searched, so we may link out to it often!
getting_started is a Q&A community for Dreamwidth difficulties. Posts aren't extremely frequent, but as of June 2023 there are questions posted within the last few months that have several comments, so people are still watching and offering support. It's entirely possible someone has posted your question and found a solution somewhere in the community's post history.
dreamwidth_meta is mostly focused on the more technical side of things, and the most recent post was in 2017, but it may still have your answer. Dreamwidth doesn't get major overhauls very often, and many core features have been present for years, so a conversation from 2011 could help you today.
Beyond those and the posts we have already catalogued, it appears there are no active and centralized spaces on Dreamwidth for troubleshooting guides. If you can't find what you're after, send a message to our mod chemicalcain and we'll try to figure it out with you. And then we'll probably make a post about it so we can help others with the same problem.
